THATCHAM TOWN’S pre-season build-up continued with successive 4-1 defeats.

They lost at Combined Counties League Hartley Wintney in midweek where Ashleigh James netted their consolation, and on Saturday lost at home to a Maidenhead United XI.

Manager Alan Devonshire had squads in action at Waterside Park and at Penn and Tylers Green, winning both matches with Jordan Cox netting a hat-trick and Christian Smith their other goal at Thatcham where Shane Cooper-Clark was on target for the hosts.

Hungerford spent the weekend in Bournemouth but on Thursday night they beat North Leigh 4-1 at Newbury with goals from Matt Day, Scott Rees, Harry Grant and Garyn Preen.

Hungerford have two teams in action on Tuesday night, one at Highmoor Ibis’ new home at Scours Lane at Tilehurst and the other against Wantage Town in a game now being played at Newbury’s Faraday Road ground with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Thatcham are also in action on Tuesday night when Farnham Town visit Waterside Park.

Tadley Calleva beat Wessex Premier Leaguers Cowes Sports 3-2 at Barlows Park on Saturday to add to their midweek 6-1 mauling of Lymington Town.

Danny Vickers (2), Connor Thorne, Andrew Charsley, Stephane Akmel and Calvin Prince Malinga scored against Lymington with Charsley, Akmel and Brett Denham on the mark against Cowes.
