City kids cap warm-up programme for Hungerford

Nicholas Bignall - warming up nicely for Hungerford

HUNGERFORD TOWN have two more pre-season games before they embark on their great National League South adventure at East Thurrock on August 6.

They make the short hop to Hellenic League Binfield tonight (Thursday) and round off their preparations at home to Bristol City’s under 21s on Saturday in the only pre-season game to be played at Bulpit Lane.

A 4-1 win over Fleet Town at Newbury on Tuesday evening saw former Reading starlet Nicholas Bignall continue his build-up to full fitness with a goal, while a lean Harry Goodger struck twice with James Clark adding the other goal.

Stefan Brown also returned after shaking off an infection, and Luke Williams had a 25-minute run-out after shaking off a knock.

Manager Bobby Wilkinson is also taking a close look at young forward Devontae Small, who has been linked with league clubs in the past, and is considering taking him onto the books with a view to a short-term loan to continue his development.

The Bristol City game kicks off at 3pm and City's likely squad is: Wollacott, Harper, Baldwin, Simon, Wood, Kelly, Andrews, Harris, Dowling, Lyons-Foster, Lemonheigh-Evans, J. Smith, Moss, Omofe, McCoulsky, Difford..

THATCHAM TOWN go to former Southern League rivals AFC Totton in their final friendly before kicking off their Hellenic League campaign at home to Ardley United on Tuesday night and TADLEY CALLEVA have Shrivenham as visitors to Barlows Park on Saturday before diving into Sydenhams Wessex League action Saturday.

NEWBURY have Oxford City Nomads development side as visiors to Faraday Road on Saturday.
