Sue hits the road and water for GB,

ATHLETICS: Newbury Athletic Club's Sue van Huyssteen pulled on the Team GB tri-suit at the weekend to compete in the 2016 ETU Challenge Poznan European Championship Long Distance triathlon.

She took on the 3.8 kilometre swim, followed by a 180K cycle and finishing with a 42.2K marathon run against the best triathletes in Europe.

By the end of the cycle discipline, she was sitting in sixth place in the F50 category, but a good run saw her claw back three places to claim an impressive bronze medal, overtaking the previous third place competitor over the final kilometre.

She completed the course in 11 hours 13 minutes 47 seconds, just over 15 minutes behind the gold medalist Anita Thoning from Denmark.
