The Newbury Weekly News is getting behind Small Business Saturday on December 5 and we want you to help us recognise the independent retailers and traders that add so much to our community.

We asked you to tell us your favourite small business in West Berkshire and here is our shortlist from your suggestions. Now we want you to vote for your number one.

Vote for the shop, restaurant, family firm, manufacturer, wholesaler, online trader or small business that makes your life special or goes above and beyond in terms of customer service. 

We will present a certificate to the winning business and give it valuable editorial coverage.

So vote for your favourite small business now! The poll will close at 11pm on Saturday, December 5.

Last year, Small Business Saturday was a runaway success.

• 16.5 million people shopped in a small independent business on the day, representing a

20 per cent increase in footfall on 2013 or – 2.7m more shoppers.

• 64 per cent of UK consumers were aware of the day, a 33 per cent increase on 2013.

• Small Business Saturday had more than 3.5 million Facebook views and #SmallBizSatUK trended at number one all day on Twitter on December 6, 2014.

    Secrets!!!! Absolutely love this salon, extremely friendly, excellent quality and more than just a salon. A really lovely environment that should be rewarded for what they do!!!
