The Royal School of Military Survey exercises its freedom of the town of Thatcham

The Royal School of Military Survey exercises its freedom of the town of Thatcham. The school, based at Denison Barracks in Hermitage, was granted the honour in 2011 in recognition of its its contribution to defence and the town. The honorary freedom means that the school has the right, honour and distinction of marching through the streets on all ceremonial occasions, with colours flying, bands playing, drums beating and bayonets fixed.
