Aldermaston firm to sponsor races and music at Newbury Racecourse

PUMP Technology Ltd is to sponsor a series of races across Newbury’s Flat season as the racecourse gears up for its biggest summer yet.

The firm, based in Youngs Industrial Estate, Aldermaston, will sponsor a series of races at Newbury Racecourse over the next three years.

A UK leader in the specification and supply of waste water, sewage pumps and pumping systems, Pump Technology has been a supporter of the racecourse since 2022.

As part of the agreement, it will sponsor nine races across the summer’s Flat season and will have the naming rights to a variety of handicap, novice and maiden fillies’ stakes races, all aired on Sky Sports Racing.

The series of sponsored races began on June 12 with the Pump Technology Ltd Handicap Stakes, with the last of its nine scheduled races taking place on September 20, as the Pump Technology Ltd Handicap Stakes.

In addition to its sponsored races, Pump Technology also has the naming rights to six of Newbury’s official racing after parties as part of a three-year agreement.

Jonathan Barker, managing director of Pump Technology, said: “We are proud to expand our sponsorship portfolio at Newbury Racecourse across the summer months.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our relationship with Newbury over the last

few years, attending many memorable race meetings

with suppliers and customers alike.

“We are very much looking forward to our series of sponsored races this summer and many more spectacular days racing.”

Shaun Hinds, chief executive at Newbury Racecourse, said: “Our thanks go to Pump Technology Ltd for their ongoing support.

“It is great to work with a partner like Pump Technology whose whole team enjoy a day at the races and make the most of every race meeting.”

2025 is set to be Newbury’s biggest summer of music, with the racecourse hosting four music race days between July and September.

Pop icons Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ella Henderson will perform live on Saturday, July 19, before Bjorn Again visit on Friday, August 15, and Clean Bandit take to the stage on Saturday, August 16.

BRIT-award winner James Bay rounds off the summer of music, performing live after racing on Saturday, September 20.
