The Willink

In partnership with our wider community, we aim to give every student a high quality, well-balanced education, enabling them to flourish and achieve their full academic and personal potential.

With our international school ethos, we are further committed to achieving excellence in language learning, giving students the opportunity to develop into confident global citizens.

We aim to ensure that all of our students are equipped with the resilience, adaptability and communication skills needed to grasp the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Our ethos is summed up in the phrase ‘Village School, Global Outlook’.

The school is a mixed 11-18 community school with almost 1,200 students on roll, attracting students from West Berkshire, Hampshire, Reading and Wokingham.
Outcomes are strong; with the most recent examination results putting the school in the top 10 non-selective schools in the area.

Our success is based on an approach to education which combines the highest expectations with sensitivity to each learner’s needs.
We desire all our students, irrespective of their background, to ‘Engage, Respect and Achieve’ and every year we are very proud of the confident, skilled and ambitious students who leave us.

In recent years about twothirds of our students achieve at least 5 grade 5s at GCSE and 30 per cent achieve A*/A at A-level. In 2020, 40 percent of our A-level students secured places at Russell Group Universities.

The Willink has experience and expertise in Initial Teacher Training and professional development and is a strategic partner to the Teaching School Hub Berkshire. We are also the lead school for the Mobius Maths Hub – a national centre for excellence in the teaching and leadership of mathematics education.

Our investment in developing excellent teaching is an investment in student experience and outcomes.
