Dastardly seadogs bring pirate trouble to Thatcham town
AHOY there!
KATS have got the crew on board for this year’s panto.
They perform Treasure Island - A Pantomime by Ben Crocker from Thursday, February 20 to Saturday 22 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday at Kennet School, Stoney Lane, Thatcham.
Long John Silver and his fearsome pirate crew are hunting for their lost treasure but to find it they'll first need to recover their missing treasure map.
But those dastardly sea-dogs didn’t count on Jim Hawkins and his mum getting to the map first!
With the help of the cake loving Squire Trelawney and his adventurous daughter Jenny, Jim and his mum are heading off across the sea to find their fortune on a ship crewed by what looks suspiciously like pirates and the ladies of the Smuggler’s Cove Women’s Institute!
Who will get to the treasure first? How many cakes can the Squire eat? How did the Women’s Institute get involved?
All tickets are priced £12, available from Ticket Source via WWW.KATS.org.uk
Join them as they set sail in February with a cast of colourful characters in this fun Ben Crocker pantomime.
About KATS
KATS is a medium-sized amateur theatre group formed around 1968, initially as an offshoot of the Kennet School PTA. Although they became an independent society many years ago, they are still affiliated to the school and stage many of their productions in the school Hall.
The group are renowned throughout the Thatcham and Newbury area for their wide range of popular entertainment and their busy schedule means they are always looking for new members to join the fun!
They rehearse at the Upper Bucklebury Memorial Hall, on a Monday and Thursday evening.
”We are also a very social group and often meet in the pub after rehearsal or arrange other events such as theatre trips, quiz nights and the annual boules tournament.”
KATS is a member of NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association).
