Play On: Am drams take a pop at themselves

If you’re looking for an evening of laugh out loud fun, then the Kingsclere Players latest production could be just the thing.

Play On, written by Rick Abott and put on in partnership with the Kingsclere Community Association, offers a glimpse behind the scenes of an amateur dramatic group and the challenges they face trying to stage a new production.

The play features an increasingly frustrated director, a long-suffering stage manager, and a mischievous sound and lighting technician – all trying to contend with an author who keeps changing the plot and lines.

In the middle of this chaos, the cast of the play strives to put on a good performance with varying degrees of success. If you’ve ever been involved with amateur dramatics, are curious about how it all works, or just want a good laugh – Play On is a great night out.

Show dates: June 6, 7, 13 and 14 at the Fieldgate Centre, Kingsclere.
