Big Ginger Tom Music celebrates 5 years of gigs in Harwell

Duncan and Vanessa Chappell are approaching the fifth birthday of putting on gigs in Harwell and on June 24 the Cambridge-based award winning singer songwriter and loop station chemist Chris Fox returns to Harwell Village Hall to take part in what will be a great evening of Americana and contemporary folk music for Big Ginger Tom Music.

He received such a warm reception when he last played in Harwell supporting The Black Feathers, that Duncan rang him the next day to ask him to come back and take a headline slot.

Chris will be accompanied by his good friend John Parker (Nizlopi, The Willows) on double bass – John last played in Harwell with The Willows in May 2018.

Those who know Chris will no doubt come with their eye patch, parrot and Jolly Roger, ready to join in with the Pirate Song!

Opening the evening will be Anna Renae, who recently wowed the audience at ACE Space when she opened for The Finn Collinson Band. She will be returning to Harwell for the third time in three years, fresh from Beardy Folk Festival, having played the inaugural “Pandemic Show” in September 2020 and was back again in 2021 with The Last Inklings and Roswell.

Anna is a Harwell favourite and there is much excitement about her coming back.

Previous reviewers have compared her style as being like Suzanne Vega with a hint of Taylor Swift and of her songwriting having great maturity for her tender years.

Tickets are available from WeGotTickets.com or by contacting Duncan at biggingertommusic@gmail.com

Doors and bar at 7pm, music at 7.40pm.
