Berkshire conductor takes a final bow after 15 years with Beenham Wind Orchestra

AT 7.30pm, on Saturday, February 12, at St Mary's Church, Thatcham, Beenham Wind Orchestra will perform their final concert under the baton of Robert Roscoe, their conductor and musical director for 15 years.

Robert has been a well-known and popular teacher and conductor in Berkshire for some 50 years and has influenced many, children and adults alike, in the joys of making music to the highest standards possible.

The amateur orchestra want to reflect this joy as they play works by Percy Grainger - Colonial Song and Handel in the Strand; Shostokovich - Firebird; Philip Sparke - Symphonic Metamorphosis; Gustav Holst - Second Suite in F and a transcription of Bach's Fugue a la Gigue and The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas, among others.
