Bargain Hunt's Thomas Forrester joins Contemporary Art Fairs at Newbury Racecourse
Contemporary Art Fairs is holding its third Newbury show at the Racecourse this weekend.
The fair attracts art lovers and investors looking for high quality original artwork across different media including paintings, sculpture, fine-art creative photography and more.
Besides local artists, well-established and emerging artists travel from all over the UK and even internationally to display their best and most recent work, which can be viewed in a spacious environment and purchased to take away on the day.
The event provides the opportunity to meet the artist and gallery owners in person.
"Not only can you buy a unique statement piece of art to treasure,’’ says fair manager Jenni, “but you take home the lifelong memories of meeting the artist that produced it.’’
The fair was established in Windsor in 2008 by art specialists Sarah McAllister and Deborah James, when they saw the need for artists and independent galleries to showcase their latest contemporary artwork direct to the public. Since then, the fairs have gone from strength to strength based on offering ‘real art for real people’ available personally from the artist.
The fair also offers activities for everyone to enjoy. Get up close through the live artist demos, take part in the Interactive Art Project run by Greenham's The Base and get free auction valuations from TV expert and Bargain Hunt regular Thomas Forrester and his team. Visitors can make it a family day where the young can be kept happily occupied by the children’s Art Quest activity trail.
“It’s been a challenge to bring the fairs through the pandemic - we took three fairs online” said Matt Smith from Contemporary Art Fairs, “but when it comes to original art there is nothing like seeing it in person and we’re excited to be at our Newbury venue again, where the art can be viewed safely with ample free parking as well.”
Information on the Fair website includes how to obtain tickets and details of those that are exhibiting. Visit www.contemporaryartfairs.co.uk or call 01753 591892
