Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust

Welcome to this week’s Dog of the Week.

Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.

And so every Sunday we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.

Nationwide, the charity currently has 658 dogs that are looking for a family to join.

You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.

Today we have a little treat for you.

Biscuit is a sweet and loving one-year-old Lurcher who needs some help and guidance to get him on track and build his confidence.

He can be quite shy when it comes to meeting new people, however, once he gets comfortable with you his personality really shines through.

Those currently looking after Biscuit at the trust, said he really enjoys all kinds of snacks and treats, which helps with his training and getting to know him.

“He loves to play fetch and chase toys, which he would do all day if you let him,” they added.

He is looking for a quiet new home, with a private, secure garden.

Biscuit is still learning how to socialise with other dogs, so will need to be the only dog in the home.

He is still scared of travelling so would benefit from living in a maybe rural area that is away from main roads with busy traffic.

“He is always so excited and happy to see his favourite people,” the trust added, “so building a bond with Biscuit is very rewarding as you’ll get to see the silly and fun side of him!”
