New tenants for The Crown & Horns at East Ilsley

New tenants have taken on a beloved country inn, which has had no permanent management for almost a year.

Benjamin Kelsey and Anthony Cuevas took over as the new tenants of The Crown & Horns at East Ilsley on Monday (May 19) after previous publican Sarah Batchelor left last summer to work near Devizes.

Mr Kelsey, who was born in Thatcham, was previously a proprietor of The Swan at Compton and The White Hart in Hamstead Marshall.

He has worked with Mr Cuevas for almost eight years.

The duo, operating under pub company Punch Pubs, promise to deliver the same relaxing, dog-friendly setting residents and visitors have come to expect from the pub.

Mr Kelsey told Newburytoday: “We were head-hunted to come and take over The Crown & Horns, and it so good to have moved in.

“It has taken two months to complete the whole process.”

The pub is located in Compton Road and its current opening times are listed on its website as 12pm to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 10pm on Sundays.
