They have been compared to classic artists of the golden era such as The Band and Little Feat. It’s music to make you smile, think and move. Blues authority and BBC2 presenter Paul James said of Mark: “He takes very real things that happen in life and makes you think afresh about them.”

The trio features the amazing musicianship of Charles Benfield (double bass/harmonies) and Ben Welburn (drums/percussion), who form a unique and much-admired rhythm section.

Mark Harrison contributes his outstanding tunes, wry observations, catchy melodies, striking rhythms and stunning guitar playing.

Mark is widely considered one of the most original and interesting artists around. You won’t hear anything else quite like him.

Mark started his journey in music with a band at school with a passion for acoustic guitar and discovering obscure blues records in second-hand shops.

His band at university recorded an album, but then “normal” life took over.

Having discovered the music of modern-day blues legend Eric Bibb, Mark was inspired to head to a shop specialising in resonator guitars. The owner of the shop steered Mark to a 1934 National Trojan wooden guitar, previously owned by Eric Bibb.

Joining in a session at Camden’s Green Note a waitress told Mark “that’s really cool” which inspired him to pursue his career in music. Mark observed “the irony is when I wanted it, it didn’t happen and when I wasn’t really trying, it did”.

Opening the evening will be local blues and rembetika musician Mark T, making his third appearance at ACE Space, on this occasion joined by Iqbal Pathan on tablas and darabuka.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £16 and available from www.WeGotTickets.com or direct by contacting events@acespace.org.uk or 07891 176940.
