160+ exhibitors at Newbury Racecourse art fair this weekend
Contemporary Art Fairs at Newbury Racecourse this weekend gives art lovers and artists the chance to meet face to face, browse, talk and buy.
More than 160 artists will be exhibiting – painters, printmakers, photographers, sculptors, ceramicists and galleries. The artwork will suit most pockets, ranging from £40 to £4,000.
There will also be workshops, painting demonstrations, interactive art, children’s art quest, wine and gin tasting..
Allow several hours to appreciate all there is to see – many visitors make it a full day and a licensed restaurant is on hand.
The resident artists at The Base at Greenham – textile clothing designer Abbie Brunksill, sculptor/potter Alice McIlroy, ceramicist Cáit Gould, portrait artist Ellie Kerr-Smiley, illustrator Mark Bijak, and painters Richard Francis Bellin, Jane Skingley and Samantha Emmons will have a stand (63 and 64) at the fair. Join them and add your own creative flair to a fabulous interactive community art piece. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Ceramic Art Whitway will be taking part, as are a number of Open Studios artists.
The show opens today Friday 6pm-9pm (private view by invitation or £30 ticket), Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 10am – 5pm.
Ticket prices £5 in advance (£4 concession) or £8 (£6 concession) on the door. Under-16s free.
An online miniature canvas sale with work donated by the artists is raising money for the Prince’s Trust
