Ship ahoy! First open mic night success for Ashford Hill venue

Ship Inn Arts in Ashford Hill recently had its first Open Mic Night.

“Beautiful music with descriptive stories and scenes, a capella harmonies, poetry, old folk songs, the lyre harp, guitars and beautiful voices. Delicious bread and cheese and drinks from the bar. Thank you Jon Whitfield for organising this and thank you Georgi and John for hosting this,” said Vanessa from The Ship Inn.

The next will be October 7 at 7pm, thereafter the first Friday of every month and into 2023, except December. If you want to go along, ring The Ship on (0118) 981 4504.

There’s a Talent Night at The Ship on Friday, December 2. Anyone who would like to perform can apply. There will be three age categories. Judges will present the winner of each with a trophy and they will be invited to play at an event on January 14. Just ring The Ship if you are interested. Entries must be in by November 4, £3 to enter.
