Thousands of people have joined the family and friends of TV presenter Caroline Flack, who took her own life at the age of 40 in 2020, since it was inaugurated to celebrate her life and raise awareness of mental health issues. The memorial festival, which has been held at Englefield House, is an intimate day-long festival to celebrate Caroline’s life with comedy, dance and music, while also raising critical funds for mental health charities.

It was able to use the facilities at the end of the Heritage Live weekend of outdoor concerts in July, but is now moving to the Crystal Palace Bowl in south London on August 8 as part of the South Facing festival concert series. It is understood that organisers say the move will allow it to take place during the summer holidays.

Last year saw stars including Olly Murs, Tom Walker, Chesney Hawkes and All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis, fitness guru Joe Wicks and the DJ Denise Van Outen.take to the stage throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

The event, which is organised by Caroline’s mother Christine, and sister Jody, along with her friends Natalie Pinkham, Dawn O’Porter, Anna Blue, Sarah Tyekiff, Liz Holmwood and Leigh and Jill Francis, has raised more than half a million pounds for four charities that held a special place in Caroline’s heart. including West Berkshire charity Charlie Waller Trust. The trust was set up by the Waller family after Charlie Waller took his own life and it works to support children and young people’s mental health.

It is thought Flackstock will still be supporting the trust.
