Good luck guys! Bell Inn’s intrepid walkers defy today’s weather for Ridgeway trek for Aldworth church

Pictured is landlord Hugh Macaulay and a group of intrepid walkers from the Bell Inn setting off at 6.30am this morning to begin a sponsored trek along the Ridgeway from Uffington back to the Aldworth pub.

The ‘pilgrims’ are raising funds for the village’s St Mary’s Church, home of the Aldworth Giants - the medieval stone effigies of Norman noble family de la Beche.

They expect to take a pitstop at West Ilsley at 11am, before returning via St Mary’s to ring a bell at around 2.30pm, followed by a celebration at the pub.
