'Over the moon' female guitar prodigy rocks back to Newbury
Great news for fans of guitar-based blues/rock/prog - female guitar prodigy Chantel McGregor and her band return to Newbury on Friday, September 9 with a gig at Arlington Arts. They will be supported by Blue Nation.
Ever since Chantel McGregor stepped out into the pro-musician world her stunning live performances demonstrated that she had the ability to perform rock for the new age, with an effortless virtuosity.
If you measure an artist’s prospects by the company they keep, then Chantel has been moving in the right direction. Early in her career, she was invited to perform with Joe Bonamassa on two of his UK tours.
Chantel is writing for her next studio album and is debuting some of the new tracks on her tour which is taking place throughout the UK.
She said: ‘I’m over the moon to be back out on tour again, the last couple of years have been incredibly tough for everyone in the music industry and it’s just so wonderful to be able to play live music in front of great crowds once again’.
Blue Nation are a three-piece band from Birmingham. They use riff-based melodic blues rock from a reservoir of influences, including Beatles, Cream, Zeppelin, Brit Pop 90s, more recently Rival Sons and Vintage Trouble, to create their memorable sound. Their songs are delivered by three accomplished musicians, fronted with stunning vocals. All backed up with impressive gig experience, stage presence and great songs.
