She's really really good, Bob Harris says so
The next gig at ACE Space, on Saturday (May 21) is a double headliner with Hannah Scott and Suthering.
Hannah is making a much-anticipated return to ACE Space, where she previously appeared in October 2018 and was due to return in May 2020, but lockdown put paid to that and the rescheduled gig in 2021.
It is difficult to simply classify Hannah’s music. One reviewer of her latest album Drawn To Darkness described it as “experimental pop”.
Hannah has opened for 10cc, but also also for folk stalwart Seth Lakeman.
Bob Harris said of Hannah: “She is really, really good.”
Maybe the term ‘folktronica’ is nearer the mark. Whatever, her music was extremely well received by the ACE Space audience.
Suthering is the combination of the talents of Heg Brignall and Julu Irvine who have taken the folk scene by storm with their unusual and fresh approach to folk.
Two beautifully matched voices delivering glorious harmonies and accompanying themselves with piano, fingerstyle guitar, flute, whistles and harmonium.
Their debut album If We Turn Away was recorded and mixed by someone very familiar to the ACE Space audience, Lukas Drinkwater.
Tickets for the gig are £14 and available from www.WeGotTickets.com or by emailing events@AceSpace.org.uk or calling 07891 176940.
