Where Bartholomew Street meets Market Street, you’ll often look up and hear the sound of drums, singing, guitars and more coming from Hogan Music’s tuition centre. In fact, if you travelled past last week you’d have heard even more than usual as they welcomed 60 young people along for their first ever Summer Workshop Week.

On Wednesday, August 17, between 12noon and 3pm, the team at Hogan Music will be opening their doors for their Summer Open Afternoon. During this time you can expect to meet lots of their teachers, get hands-on trying out lots of instruments, discover their top floor recording studio and talk all things music lessons with their tuition team.

As well as this, visitors will be able to browse musical instruments and accessories in the Hogan Music Summer Sale. Savings of up to 50 per cent can be made on the most popular brands so if you or your child is looking to start playing, or you want to upgrade or add to an existing collection, venture into town on this day to pick up a bargain.

Head of partnerships and development at Hogan Music, Sam Wyne told Newburytoday: “We’ve been wanting to organise an event like this for some time, but we’ve always had restrictions limiting us.

"This is going to be a great opportunity to meet lots of new people and to showcase what we do best.

"We get many requests for try-out sessions so this is the perfect opportunity to try-out on as many instruments as you like and you never know, you may even want to start up that lifelong ambition of learning a musical instrument.”
