Ibiza legends Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago party at Newbury Racecourse
Ibiza legends Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago take to the Newbury Racecourse stage for an after-party following the last race on Al Shaqab Lockinge with Ladies’ Day on Saturday (May 14).
In celebration of the upcoming Jubilee, racegoers can expect not just fast horses and fashion, but signature cocktails with the recently launched ‘Jubilee Spritz’ across selected bars, new premier hospitality offerings including the Jubilee Garden Package, plus live acoustic music throughout the afternoon and finally the after-party, with the dynamic husband and wife duo rocking some brilliant dance tunes.
House DJ Ben and saxophonist Laura met and fell in love in Ibiza and have been "making waves together in the music industry" with their incredible live performances, travelling the world and playing to thousands. The duo have become one of the hottest and most sought after stars on the circuit generating a huge following in Ibiza and totalling more than 50 million streams on social media for their one of a kind saxophone and DJ combination.

As part of their progressive vision of Ladies Day, the racecourse will be championing a first for the industry with the recent launch of their female race commentary initiative. Aspiring commentator Dani Jackson takes over the microphone to commentate on the first race of the day, a charity race in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee to raise funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund.
Racegoers will also have the chance to hear from some leading sporting figures before the live action starts with their Panel of Pioneers featuring Lioness captain Katie Zelem, curling Olympic gold medallist Eve Muirhead and leading jockey Hollie Doyle talking about their personal journies into their sport.
The racecourse will become awash with colour and fashion, as racegoers showcase their vast array of individual ‘signature styles' with on-the-spot prizes being awarded throughout the afternoon by the racecourse style team. Prizes include drink and food vouchers, tickets for future racedays and more.
The star attraction of the afternoon, the Group 1 Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes, run over Newbury’s straight mile and worth an impressive £350,000 in prizemoney is the first middle distance race of the season, designed for older horses. Won by some great horses in the past, including the legendary Frankel (2012), Ribchester (2014) and most recently by Palace Pier (2021), the very first running of the race was won by the Queen’s horse Pall Mall in 1958, who also won back-to-back wins of the race.
