Love the Great British Sewing Bee? Newbury Stitch Fair’s a chance to get to grips with a sewing machine
If you are interested in sewing, crafting and connecting with fellow needlework enthusiasts, then join Newbury Stitch Fair (NSF) at Kennet Shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 17 and 18).
Featuring the well known 'exhibition circuit' fabric vendor Geoff Rosenberg, the fair will also include a series of workshops delivered by writer, teacher and author Wendy Gardiner, complemented by drop-in Indian Block Printing sessions run by ’Singer Sewing Hero 2023' Marion Scott-Baker.
The Newbury Stitch Fair will run in the centre's atrium from 10am to 6pm on Tuesday and 10am to 4pm on Wednesday.
Net proceeds from the event will be going to Marie Curie.

Make a Lovely Stretch Knit Top - using simple measurements and stretch fabric you will make a top to fit you perfectly
Sew a Silky Infinity Scarf – machine an infinity scarf in a silky fabric and master sewing with slippery fabrics
Get to Grips with a Sewing Machine – have some fun for 90 minutes as you try out different stitches , master buttonholes and insert an invisible zip
Classic Camisole with Rouleau strips
Cosmetic Caddy or Fabric Storage Basket – have a play on the sewing machine while you made a simple lined bag with a fold down top and button closure
Make an Envelope Backed Cushion Cover with Raw Edge Appliqué – learn to cut out and stitch the appliqué to a cushion front neaten the backs then put the whole lot together.
