Wind in the Willows story trail meanders along Oxford riverbank

HAVING pioneered some spectacular Zoom theatre over the past 15 months, Creation today (Saturday) open their first live in person outdoor show since the pandemic - an immersive open-air story trail of The Wind in the Willows.

“The pageant of the river bank had marched steadily along, unfolding itself in scene-pictures that succeeded itself in stately procession.”

For just two weeks until August 8 - the innovative Oxford theatre company, who excel in site specific productions, will be popping up in Sunnymead Meadow, to discover the characters of Kenneth Grahame’s children’s classic amongst the meadow and meandering river. In small groups you’ll journey through the river bank, the wild wood, and maybe even get a glimpse of Toad Hall, encountering characters and activities along the way.

Tickets are booked in family bubbles of up to five people, with a maximum of two full price adults in each bubble, accompanied by additional concession ticket holders. Performances begin at 10 minute intervals and will be made up of three bubbles, with a total group size of 15 at each start time. This means that if you buy all three tickets you’ll get a private performance for your group.

Tickets for The Wind in the Willows By Kenneth Grahame, adapted and directed by Helen Eastman, are extremely limited as audience size is restricted. Advance booking essential.

Sunnymead Meadow is accessed from the park next to Cutteslowe Community Centre. There is some on street parking in the area, but we recommend taking a bus, walking or cycling if you can.

The performance will move between multiple locations and is on mixed ground, so a good degree of mobility is essential. Contact the company if you have access issues and they will make adjustments for the performance you would like to attend.

Please note there are no toilets.
