Lee Bouzida drops fourth studio album, the first recorded in his Newbury hometown at Studio 91 at Greenham
Newbury musician Lee Bouzida releases a new album this week.
And on Saturday, Lee Robert and his live band are celebrating the release of Modernity, with a huge launch show at The Lion, Newbury.
The night will consist of a headline set from the band, playing the new album in its entirety, including the recent singles A Meaningful Reflection, 2AM - all of which have had radio play on BBC Berkshire and Oxford for BBC Introducing - and the smash hit Animal Kingdom.
The set will also include some old favourites like Thank God For The DJ, U3 and I'll Give You The Sun, with plenty of surprises too.
Opening the show is local hero and brother of the nights headliner, Ben Graham, dropping some indie-pop ballads from his piano.
Main support on the night comes from local legends Julliette, fresh from huge shows across the south and their massive latest single Break.
The new album, released on all streaming platforms Friday, is Robert's fourth studio album, but the first actually recorded in his hometown of Newbury, up at Studio 91 at New Greenham Business Park.
The album's artwork features images from the top of Northcroft with fog covered sightings of the town visible.
“The songs are a collection of tales from lockdown, addressing many of the issues that individuals face in this fast-paced, ever-changing landscape we call life.
“It's loud and thoughtful and ready for anything,” says Lee.
