Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Carole King: Newbury's soul lockdown choir to get in the groove with summer gig

Newbury musician and voice coach Maia Hendrickx started an online choir during lockdown and they have been singing together ever since.

Soul Reason began during the lockdown in 2021 as an antidote to the increasing feelings of isolation during the pandemic. "What started off as a fortnightly online club has grown and become a wonderful community of singers and friends," said Maia.

"After a very successful gig at The Globe Inn at Christmas we, along with our live band, are excited to get back on stage with songs by Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Carole King and others.

"We love singing together and hope you will join us for for an evening of uplifting music guaranteed to get your summer of to a great start."

Tickets are £13 (including drink) and available at https://bit.ly/SoulReasonSummer

Doors open at 7pm.
