More LitFest tickets to see Simon Russell Beale - possibly the greatest stage actor of his generation
DUE to the high demand, Marlborough LitFest have announced a venue change for Sir Simon Russell Beale’s event on Sunday, September 29 at 7.30pm.
Beale’s previously sold-out talk will now be held at the Memorial Hall, Marlborough College, instead of Marlborough Town Hall. Further tickets have been released and are now available for £12.
Marlborough LitFest Patron Sir Simon Russell Beale - possibly the greatest stage actor of his generation - will be interviewed by Emma Smith, Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Oxford.
They will be discussing Beale’s first book, A Piece of Work, recounting his acting career with a focus on his Shakespearean characters.
Simon Russell Beale has received two BAFTA Awards, three Olivier Awards and a Tony Award. He started his theatrical career at The Royal Court, and went on to the Royal Shakespeare Company for eight years. Since then, he has spent 20 years at The National Theatre. Not only has Russell Beale performed all over the world, he has also appeared in award-winning TV and film. In 2019 he was appointed a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services to the arts.
Marlborough Literature Festival is held at the end of September every year in the historic market town, celebrating the best of writing and books with events for all ages and tastes.
