Around 20 children and parents turned up at Kennet Shopping on Sunday to contribute their painting skills to the City Arts Newbury musical mural, celebrating the current Newbury Spring Festival fortnight.

Each group stayed for a good long time to help paint the wall design drawn by the artist Isabel Carmona on Friday in preparation for the day.

Some of the adults also took a brush in hand to reach the higher parts of the wall and Isabel finished off the day by painting the top characters and drawing a few lines in pen.

The City Arts team of Isabel and Maria Lewis said: “It was a very enjoyable experience and the team at City Arts Newbury would like to thank the Kennet Shopping centre and Newbury Spring Festival for the opportunity of this collaboration and specially all those who came and joined in with the painting.”
