New season of live music, comedy and theatre goes on sale at Arlington Arts




Arlington Arts’ next season of events has gone on sale and its an eclectic and talented mix of live music, comedy and theatre on offer.

As Newbury’s premier live music venue, the programme features top emerging talent and ‘closest to the real thing’ tributes.

September kicks off with Blues legends Paul Jones and Dave Kelly (September 5) while October features two of the top UK Blues Rock acts in When Rivers Meet (October 3) and King King (October 10). Tributes to favourite acts include The Dung Beatles (November 14) and Pink By Vicky Jackson (November 22).

Bellowhead member Benji Kirkpatrick returns with his Bendrix show (November 6) and one of the UK’s best loved folk groups, The Young’Uns (December 13) for a special set of seasonal songs old and new.

Fans of theatre will be entertained by a chilling new adaptation of Frankenstein (October 1) and Olivier Award nominee Gerard Logan brings you a night of three ghost stories with Hauntings (October 30). There is family theatre for animal lovers with The Zoo That Comes To You (November 16) and during the festive period with Santa’s Christmas Party (December 24).

The comedy programme features the cult-hit event Solve-Along-A Murder, She Wrote (September 7), not just for fans of the television show. If you’re looking for stand-up comedy then join Stephen K Amos (October 25) for freestyling musings and merrymaking to get your belly aching or catch Kit Loyd’s Frenzy (November 7) for a frenetic hour of physical comedy.

East Ilsley artist Jill Hobbs will be exhibiting her latest work during September and October with a new exhibition, Beyond The Surface - a deeply personal reflection that weaves together themes of portraiture and nature, with her love of water playing a central and symbolic role. The exhibition opens on Monday, September 8.

Ballet Theatre UK return for their annual festive performance with a performance of the beloved classic A Christmas Carol (December 6 and 7) – brought back by popular demand!

Tickets can be booked via the Arlington Arts website at any time or from the box office, in person or over the phone, during opening hours (10am-4.30pm weekdays). There is a £1 booking fee per ticket.
