Newbury Choral Society carol concert to support West Berks Foodbank
Set next Sunday (December 15) aside for Newbury Choral Society’s Christmas concert, at St Nicolas Church at 7.30pm.
You can expect a good mix of familiar favourites and some less familiar carols, with opportunities to join in from time to time.
The choir will sing some carols unaccompanied, with the rest accompanied by Steve Bowey on the organ.
This will be a fine opportunity to get your Christmas celebrations under way, including a chance to make a donation to West Berks Foodbank, with representatives available to answer questions and receive donations.
“Newbury Choral Society is proud to support this organisation, particularly at a time of year when nobody in our community should be forced to go hungry.”
Tickets are £15 (£5 for under 16s), available from the choir website newburychoral.org.uk or from choir members
About West Berks Foodbank:
Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, with substantial support from Greenham Trust, working together towards relieving hunger in our local area.
We are a registered charity in England and Wales No. 1151996.
“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide seven days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
