Picture gallery: Memories of Newbury Carnival from the 1990s
The Newbury summer carnival was always an excuse to dress up, wave at the crowds and raise money for good causes.
Newbury Carnival was organised by Newbury Round Table and held in July. Crowds would line the streets of Northbrook Street and Bartholomew Street as the carnival floats and bands and entertainers processed along the route.
The carnival atmosphere continued in Victoria Park where more entertainment was provided.
The carnival would raise thousands of pounds for good causes with floats from community groups, schools, businesses and charities providing colourful themed displays.
We've been delving into the archives and found these pictures from the 1990, 1993 and 1994. Do you recognise anyone in the pictures?
The last Newbury Carnival was held in 2017. Would you like to see it make a return?
