A special prize of £100 has been donated this year by one of the scheme's beacon artists and supporters, Jane Vaidya, to be awarded to a piece of work by one of the 120 artists taking part.

This year's prize goes to Jon Townsin for his Dovetailed Jewellery Box.

Jon Townsin is presented with his prize by Open Studios chairman John Brazendale, with committee members Diana Patterson, Isabel Carmona and Eva Akhurst Ref: 38-2221

The judges, exhibition curators Arty Pumpkin and Ben Honisett said it had been hard to select one winner. In the handling and close contact with each work of art in the exhibition they were drawn to the ingenuity, craftsmanship and originality of the work.

Go and see the winning piece yourself and be immersed in the many works by artists in our local community. Booking required on The Base website for your FREE entry to INSIGHT OS2021 exhibition at The Base 10am -5pm everyday until October 10.
