Peter Rabbit 120-year anniversary trail opens at Greenham on Saturday
Peter Rabbit turns 120 years old this year and The Base at Greenham is celebrating by bringing his much-loved stories to life in an anniversary trail.
As little bunnies, children will be able to crawl under the garden gate, hide behind the watering can and see their reflection in a mirror pool, just like Peter.
Wander through the story and discover craft activities along the way.
The World of Peter Rabbit™Storytime Trail opens on Saturday, with a special walk-through experience for families to enjoy and it continues until Sunday, September 25.
There are plenty of photo opportunities for families to recreate their favourite scenes from the much-loved childhood tale.
- On selected Saturday mornings, join Merry Go-Round Storytelling for Peter Rabbit and Friends Storytime Sessions, where the wonderful world of Peter Rabbit will be brought to life through magical characters and fabulous songs.
- Alongside this exciting anniversary event are a variety of workshops for young people to take part in.
- Budding young artists can leave their mark on the venue in the Peter Rabbit Mural Art Workshops, on Thursdays and Saturdays from Saturday until Saturday, August 27.
Local artist and illustrator Simon Jardine will lead two age appropriate art workshops (6-9 and 10-13 years) to help create a beautiful mural in The Base’s Runway Gallery, and bring Peter Rabbit and his friends to life for all to enjoy and admire.
n Children can take inspiration from The World of Peter Rabbit™ Storytime Trail and participate in the Create Your Own Storybook Character workshop on Wednesday, August 10, or Saturday, September 3.
The workshops will be led by The Base resident Ellie Kerr-Smiley, using games to inspire characters and create watercolour paintings to bring their characters to life.
The World of Peter Rabbit™ Storytime Trail is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
Tickets are £5 for under-16s (£6.50 adults, £6 concs, under-5s free).
