Latitude Festival is inviting 12 pianists and their musical colleagues (maximum 4 in total) from across the UK to apply for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at The Piano, an extraordinary new opportunity debuting at the 2025 festival.
Hidden within a secluded woodland glade, The Piano offers a beautifully atmospheric, informal setting where artists of all abilities can share their music with a live festival audience. Curated slots will run throughout the weekend, providing performers with a unique stage framed by nature and spontaneity.
Set within the stunning surrounds of Henham Park, Suffolk. the festival offers the very best in music, dance, comedy, poetry, theatre, literature, podcasts, family activities and wellness.
In the heart of Henham Park’s whispering woods, where sunlight filters through the trees and festival-goers drift between discovery and creativity, something special awaits: a piano, standing alone. It isn’t just an instrument; it’s an invitation. Latitude Festival will select musicians to take part in this extraordinary experience from 24th–27th July 2025, allowing them to create moments that resonate beyond the festival itself.
More than just a stage, The Piano is about connection, between artist and audience, between music and the surrounding world. Select performances will be featured on Latitude’s social media channels, turning fleeting melodies into lasting festival memories.
For scheduled performances, in addition to the piano, the space will be equipped with a high-quality 4-channel PA system with a microphone to support live vocals and 3 additional instruments. The multi-channel setup allows musicians to mic up a violin, guitar, or any other instrument they choose to bring, ensuring flexibility and professional sound. The Piano will be managed by the team behind the independent label The People’s Ear, bringing their artist-focused ethos and curatorial expertise to this unique woodland stage.
In a twist that makes The Piano extraordinary, the space will also host unannounced appearances from artists across the Latitude lineup. One moment, it’s an emerging performer pouring their heart into a song; the next, festival stars like Sting, Brad Kella, Snow Patrol, Sigrid, Guy Garvey, and Mika, host of Channel 4’s The Piano, might take a seat, turning an ordinary woodland melody into something legendary.

Latitude is now accepting applications from pianists, singer-songwriters, and musicians across the board, eager to perform at The Piano. Whether you're a seasoned performer or simply someone ready to share music with the world, this is your chance to be part of something special.
Curated performance times are set for Thursday, 24 July at 8pm, 10pm, and midnight; Friday, 25 July at 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and midnight; Saturday, July 26 at 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and midnight; and Sunday, 27 July at 11am, 2pm, 5pm, and midnight.
Outside of the curated sessions, The Piano remains open all weekend, inviting festival-goers to play at sunrise, add their melody under the stars, or simply witness the sound of creativity unfolding in nature.
