Promoters Raymond Gubbay cancel UK tour by Russian State Ballet
Promoters Raymond Gubbay Ltd have cancelled the tour by the Russian State Ballet.
The acclaimed ballet company is mid-tour and was due to perform at The Anvil, Basingstoke, from Monday, March 14 to Wednesday, March 16.
The Russian State Ballet of Siberia were to have danced Cinderella, Romeo & Juliet and Swan Lake, accompanied by the live Russian State Ballet Orchestra.
The promoters issued the following statement toady (Monday):
"In view of the current shocking circumstances unfolding in the Ukraine, the remaining performances by the Russian State Ballet of Siberia of their 2021/22 tour will not be taking place.
"We have been liaising with both government and venues throughout the weekend as to our shared sentiment and all ticket holders shall be contacted as soon as possible by their point of purchase.
"We hope for a swift return to peace and stability in the region."
