You can help put the fun into this fundraiser at the 10-hour session at the Corn Exchange, when there will be dance teachers leading sessions throughout the day, local DJs mixing some tunes and the chance to party with your friends.

By registering to take part in the Danceathon the Corn Exchange asks that you commit to raising sponsorship for the Old Library Campaign. Once signed up participants will receive a welcome pack that has everything you need to know about fundraising.

Help the Corn Exchange Newbury raise funds for the Old Library campaign by getting sponsored for completing as much of the 10 hours as possible.

To sign up or for more information visit: https://cornexchangenew.com/events/old-library-fundraising-event-danceathon?utm_source=press&utm_medium=Newbury_Today&utm_campaign=danceathon

Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults will need to pre-book a free ticket at checkout or register as a participant.

All proceeds will go towards reopening the historic Old Library in Newbury as a permanent home for the Corn exchange’s creative participation work.

The Corn Exchange is fundraising to raise £2.6m to create a new arts hub at the Old Library with the aim of transforming lives through the arts. The creative participation work provides a lifeline to many local people, reducing social isolation and loneliness within our community. It is also improving mental health locally and supporting young people in building confidence and self-esteem. But currently, it takes place in a temporary shared space and desperately needs a new permanent home.

The Old Library is the perfect new space and once complete will have dedicated engagement spaces, a small café bar and places to gather – benefiting more local people with the positive impact that participation in creative activity has.

There are other opportunities to help fundraise for The Old Library including an Open Mic Night on Sunday, September 8. Either watch local performers showcase their skills in live music and spoken word, spellbinding magic and more or get in touch via email at boxoffice@cornexchangenew.co.uk if you'd like to perform at this user-friendly event. Only audience members will need to pay the £5 admission fee. Performers enter free. Age guide: 16+.

Then, for all the quizzers out there, on Thursday, September 26 there’s a fundraising quiz in the Balcony Bar: grab a drink and show off your knowledge… £5 per person, six per team.
