Come Sing Your Heart Out with Newbury’s Community Soul one-day choir in celebration of World Voice Day

THE popular musician and voice coach Maia Hendrickx is rallying local singers once again, this time for Sing Your Heart Out with Community Soul’s One-Day Choir – A Celebration of World Voice Day.

This uplifting one-day choir event, Community Soul will bring together singers of all abilities to share in the joy of collective music-making.

Led by Maia, who is choir leader of Soul Reason, this special session will take place in Newbury on Saturday, April 12.

“Together, we’ll be learning and performing a stunning choral arrangement of Mitski’s ‘My Love Mine All Mine’, originally arranged by one of the founders of Gaia Music Collective - a renowned NYC-based organisation dedicated to inclusive, heart-centred group singing,” says Maia.

“Inspired by Gaia’s ethos of bringing people together through song, this event reflects everything that Community Soul stands for: connection, creativity, and the sheer joy of singing without fear or judgment.”

The theme for World Voice Day this year is ‘Empower Your Voice’, and what better way to do that than by lifting it in harmony with others?

Singing in a group has been proven to boost confidence, reduce stress, and create a powerful sense of belonging.

Community Soul’s mission is to make that experience accessible to everyone - funds should never be a barrier to music.

This event operates on a sliding scale payment system, ensuring that anyone aged 16+ who wants to take part can do so.
