Newbury Spring Festival is more than just classical music.

Yes, they do present some of the very best international classical music on offer, plus a selection of the next great up-and-coming artists, but they also include in the programme exceptional music from different genres from around the world. Step outside your comfort zone this year and try something a bit different, whether it's drummers from Ghana, the sound of Bollywood beats or Irish-influenced folk music - its still world-class musicianship in all its forms.

Bollywood Brass Band Sat 7 May

Start the festival with a bang (and a boom)! The opening night sees the Bollywood Brass Band take to the Corn Exchange stage. They are the UK’s pioneering Indian-style wedding band, playing the great tunes and compulsive danceable rhythms of the most popular music in the world. Colourful, joyful and exhilarating - what's not to love!?

Taking inspiration from their roots in the Irish and English traditions, Flook have an enviable trademark sound, weaving traditionally rooted tunes over precise acoustic grooves, with a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance. Their most recent album was released to critical acclaim and nominated for BBC Folk Album of the year.

The Kakatsitsi Master Drummers

Kakatsitsi are a group of traditional drummers, dancers and singers from Southern Ghana. One of the leading traditional drumming groups their performances are both highly entertaining and educational, celebrating one of Africa’s richest drumming and dance cultures.
