The Guilty Men, a ‘supergroup’ with Barclay James Harvest, 10cc, Jethro Tull, The Cheaters, Any Trouble pedigree, set to rock Hungerford
THE Guilty Men will headline Arts For Hungerford on March 21.
Who, you say?
The Guilty Men must surely qualify for the description of a supergroup...
The band is made up of five of the finest musicians from the Northwest of England.
Lifelong friends Clive Gregson and Neil Cossar were catching up over lunch and thought it might be fun to try and write some songs together.
Clive recruited keyboardist Jez Smith and bassist Craig Fletcher from John Lees’ Barclay James Harvest… and the lineup was completed with the addition of legendary drummer Paul Burgess, who has played with 10cc since 1973.
They named the band The Guilty Men, and headed into the recording studio.
Their recent debut album Invisible Confetti rocks… with nods to Americana, country, folk, pop, psychedelia. Thirteen brand new songs were recorded in the old-fashioned way: everybody playing live in the studio, intent on catching the moment. Most of the songs were laid down in no more than two or three takes… and with four featured lead vocalists, the album covers a lot of musical bases. It went Top 50 on the Amazon rock chart.
Following the album release in September , The Guilty Men are on their first UK tour, with 19 more dates added for this month and next, including Hungerford.
Between them, The Guilty Men have played more than 10,000 gigs, recorded thousands of songs and made countless radio and TV appearances. To say they’re experienced would be an understatement.
