Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Welcome to this week’s Dog of the Week.
And we start today with some lovely, positive news - Hector, the 11-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier who we featured last weekend, has now been reserved!
But Dogs Trust Newbury still has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And so every Sunday we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 774 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
This week we have the big, bouncy Mika to introduce to you.
Mika is a cheeky three-year-old Boxer Cross and everyone at the trust is incredibly fond of him.
"This wonderful boy has really developed into the most adorable character since being with us," it added.
"He regularly shares his kennel with other dogs who are in need of some additional canine therapy.
"His large goofy nature brings most dogs out of their shell so a home with another dog would really suit Mika.
"Mika loves nothing more than throwing his toys around playfully and having a good run around in our off-lead areas.
"Once the adventures are over, he is often seen curled up in his kennel catching up on some well-deserved rest."
Mika is a big bouncy boy, who doesn't always know his size, so the trust believes a home with teenagers or older would be preferred.
He would also love a garden to potter around and play in.
This lovable boy has certainly stolen the hearts of the staff at Dogs Trust.
