Adverse weather forecast cancels Greenham 40 family sculpture workshops at Newbury's Victoria Park




TODAY's family sculpture workshops in Victoria Park have been cancelled due to the adverse weather forecast.

The workshops, which were to be led by Jemima Brown, had been organised by Greenham Control Tower as part of a series of educational events and activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the Greenham Peace Women arriving at Greenham Common. .

Jemima Brown's exhibition Peace Camp is currently running at West Berks Museum to April 30. Her sculptures celebrate the women of the peace camps. At approximately 1/3 life size, they fuse figurative portraits with found objects including thermos flasks and camping stoves. The work explores memories of the Greenham protest and considers its significance in turbulent times 40 years on.
