Enjoy toe-tapping wartime tunes with veteran jazzband’s lunchtime tribute

Theale Jazz has been going for nearly 20 years and Graeme Hewitt's High Society Jazz band (leader Graeme is heading for his 86th birthday) is planning to pay atribute to the 80th VE Day anniversary by playing a selection of wartime tunes on their session on Tuesday (May 6), which starts at midday.

Expect toe-tappers The Siegfried Line and A Long Way to Tipperary, Run Rabbit Run and finishing with We'll Meet Again.

Jazz at Theale has always been entertaining, over the years hosting Kenny Ball, Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and Humphrey Lyttleton, who have all guested with Graeme along with many other top jazz musicians.

Lead trumpet with the band is currently Mike Henry who was with Chris Barber for many years.

Graeme composed a tune while serving time called 'Another Day' which he is just about to release on CD.

Jazz at Theale takes place at the Village hall.
