Desperately seeking three young men who can pass for 18 year olds…

Even before their March production of Here Comes a Chopper by Eugene Ionesco opens, New Era Players in Wash Common are thinking about the casting of their June production, which will feature two one act plays and a Talking Heads, one of which requires three young men who can pass for 18 year olds.

New Era

A thriving amateur theatre company New Era is fortunate to have it's own theatre, which means rehearsals can take place on the stage which is used for performances - a rarity in amateur theatre.

Without giving away plot secrets one of the pieces revolves around a chance meeting between an older lady and a young man who is in the middle of his exams and torn between following his ambitions to be in a band or pursuing a more conventional career. The woman is, apparently, the mother of a famous rock star, but is she really who she claims to be?

Anyone interested in participating can contact either of the two directors for further details:

Auditions will be at New Era Theatre, St George's Community Centre, Andover Road, Newbury, RG14 6NU on Sunday, March 16 and performances will run from June 12 - 21.
