The September term is now on sale and offers weekly Youth Theatre sessions on site at The Watermill Theatre Studio for young people aged four-25.

A new Youth Theatre hub has also been created at Moorside Community Centre in Thatcham, offering sessions for ages four-16 on a Thursday.

Plus, two new actor-musician sessions for ages 12-16 and 16-25 are being launched, offering young people the opportunity to learn how these skills are used to create performances at The Watermill.

Careers in the Arts, which is run in partnership with the Corn Exchange thanks to funding from Greenham Trust, continues into its third year, with Young Creative courses in Set and Costume design for ages 14-18, as well as a recently launched Creator Network for ages
18-25 who are taking the first steps into a creative career.

Watermill outreach director Heidi Bird said: “The Watermill Youth Theatre is at the heart of our outreach work, and we are delighted to expand the programme in September.

“Our new groups in Thatcham will enable us to reach more young people across our community, and our actor-musician course will introduce young people to this multi-disciplinary skill founded at The Watermill.

“Following the success of our Young Creatives groups, we are excited to grow our Careers in the Arts in partnership with The Corn Exchange, by introducing our new Creators Network for artists aged 18-25 who are navigating their first steps in the industry.

“The arts are an essential part of a young person’s development, and we play a crucial role in creating opportunities for community. We provide a space where people can try something new, learn performance skills, make new friends, and have a lot of fun. We very
much look forward to welcoming everyone who comes to take part!”

The Youth Theatre offers a range of regular activities for young people of all ages and ability. Groups for Home Educated young people and groups with additional support are also part of the Youth Theatre offering. Access and financial support is widely available, with full or partial financial support offered.
