Children's Mighty Machines explore identity and social inclusion in Newbury
AN exhibition by The Castle School pupils, Mighty Machines, runs at City Arts Newbury this weekend from Friday until Sunday.
The show is a result of a collaborative educational art project with The Castle School and local printmaker Charlotte Adcock exploring identity and social inclusion.
The pupils use mixed media to examine the parallel between community and machines, both needing many different components to function successfully.
Arists Christian, Dylan, Dylan, Immy, Jake, Jude, Kaiam, Liam, Ryland, Tyler and Wilson are exhibiting their artwork.
Isabel Carmona from City Arts said: "City Arts Newbury is proudly hosting this exhibition from Castle School students that have interpreted their brief regarding the machine world in various fun ways, full of expression and colour.
"They show clearly that they’ve learned a great deal of techniques from their collaboration with Charlotte Adcock."
City Arts Newbury is a local community arts charity housed in an old chapel in Hampton Road, Newbury.
The exhibition is open to the public from 10am to 4pm Fridays to Sundays. The Art Hub Café open at the same times for artisan coffee, hot drinks and homemade cakes.
