FLEETWOOD BAC were the world’s first and are regarded as the UK’s most authentic Fleetwood Mac Tribute show, raved about by Peter Green’s biographer, and were the first Fleetwood Mac tribute band to fully replicate the classic Stevie, Lindsey, Christine, John & Mick ‘Rumours’ line-up. The sound, look, mystical atmosphere and on-stage chemistry are all portrayed with passion and energy, the band having built up an excellent reputation among Mac fans through numerous tours, festival appearances, corporate events and TV and radio slots all over the UK and Europe.Catch them at Arlington Arts tomorrow night with Go Your Own Way, start 8pm. https://arlington-arts.com/ When the band played last year our reviewer said: ‘Instrumentally superb and vocally excellent, Fleetwood Bac are rightly tagged as a premier tribute act to Fleetwood Mac. Yet again, Arlington Arts, succeeded in sending an audience home very happy and cementing their position as an important and excellent local music venue. The enjoyment between the band and their spectators was palpable. Not surprisingly the merch stand was doing a roaring trade. This was a show to treasure and to remember.’ https://arlington-arts.com/

Mikron: Common Ground coming to Goring Lock

MIKRON, that much-loved theatre company that have toured the country in vintage narrowboat Tyseley for the past 51 years, are back in our area with their stories of uniquely British things. Catch them at Goring Lock tonight (Thursday, 7pm-9pm), with Common Ground, a play about Rambling and our rights of way – grab your boots and waterproof, and join them for a ‘hill-arious’ hike through the history of land access in England, from ze Norman Conquest to loitering in lockdown, via The Mass Trespass at Kinder Scout. They return on Saturday with Jennie Lee. In 1929, Jennie Lee left her coal-mining family in Scotland to become Westminster’s youngest MP – so young that, as a woman, she couldn’t even vote for herself.Tenacious, bold and rebellious, Jennie cut her own path through history, fighting with her every breath for the betterment of all our lives, believing every person deserved their share of the fruits of the earth – for wages, health, housing and for art and education too. Her role in the foundation of the Open University and the expansion of the Arts Council aided Jennie’s fight for bread and roses, and in doing so, changed the 20th century. Oh yes, and founder of the NHS Nye Bevan was her husband. But Jennie is no footnote in someone else’s past. Visit https://mikron.org.uk/ for more information
