WASH Common Community Library, Rhyme Time for pre-school children, parents and carers, come and join us for singing and story reading, 3pm. The Book Club will be discussing Once Upon A River by Diane Setterfield and sharing other reading recommendations. 7.30pm.

SATURDAY
PICKLEFEST at the Delphic Brewing Co tap room near Newbury Station, live music, tastings and friendly competition, 2pm to 6pm, pickle enthusiasts and curious foodies alike will gather to sample and vote on a variety of homemade pickles, hot sauces, low-alcohol drinks, ferments, jams, and honey. Enter your own creations to be judged by the crowd and a special celebrity judge: the chef of The Goat on the Roof.
BEENHAM Wind Orchestra Englefield Fete , Englefield Primary School (entrance fee for the event) 2pm-4.30pm. Family event with lots of family fun and activities – a great afternoon out.
GARSTONBURY, East Garston Music Festival. Featuring some amazing acts like Coldplay, Robbie Williams, ABBA and Queen (sort of….!) plus the very best local talent. Noon to 2am. Entry prices from £25 for the under 18s (which includes free rides on the bouncy castles/bucking bronco etc) to £50 for adults, with discounted tickets for students and OAPs. www.garstonbury.com

SUMMER Serenade at St George's Church, Wash Commmon. 3pm. Harmony Choir, with guests Helen Page and Oliver Williams present a richly varied programme, from Brahms to Badelt, and from Tallis to Chilcott. Truly music for all tastes, with the traditional summer refreshments of Pimm’s and strawberries Tickets £10 (cash only) at door. Under 18s free.
