Published: 07:30, 19 September 2021
A round-up of events taking place today (Sunday) across West Berkshire and North Hampshire.
- Yattendon Fete and Classic Vehicle Day, 11am-4pm. Displays will be in the field opposite Yattendon Church and there will be some of the fete's favourite stalls including cakes and produce, barbecue and raffle alongside vintage teas and vintage stalls. This year's cake competition will be Swiss roll so please drop off your entry (name on base) to the Produce Stall by 11.30am. Winners will be announced at midday. All proceeds from the Fete activities will be going to local charities so we look forward to supporting them and having a fantastic day.
- Wildflower meadow cut at Victoria Park volunteers needed. Meet at the bandstand at 10am. Over the past 2 years, volunteers helped to plant beautiful wildflower meadows at City Recreation Ground and Victoria Park. In the Spring the flowers started growing and by June they were amass with colour for everyone to enjoy. To ensure the flowers come up again next year, the wildflowers need to be cut down at the end of the season, after the flowers have all finished. This needs to be followed up by removing the debris. We are asking for volunteers to help cut the meadow, disperse the seed heads and prepare the area so that next summer it will look beautiful once again.
- Berkshire Game and Country Fair Newbury Showground, 10am-6pm each day. Entertainment, displays, refreshments. Fun for the whole family. For tickets and more information www.livingheritagecountryshows.com/berkshire-game-country/
