Here is a quick round up of some of the events going on across the district this weekend.

Saturday 14

And Sunday 15, National Garden Scheme, Wynders and Thurle Grange, Rectory Road, Streatley, 10am-4pm. Teas and homemade cakes available with proceeds to Streatley Primary School and ticket and plant sales go to great causes including Macmillan Cancer Support, Parkinson’s UK and Maggie’s. Plant Sale and Raffle, 3 Church Lane, Brimpton, 10am-noon. Refreshments at 2 Church Lane, Brimpton. Please park by the church. Donations of labelled plants welcome in advance or on the day. Proceeds to St Peter’s Church, Brimpton.

Sunday 15

Kintbury 5, Kintbury Recreation Ground, Inkpen Road, Kintbury, 10.30am. Part of the West Berkshire Series. A friendly 5-mile run starting from the Jubilee Centre. Fun children’s races of 350m (age six and under), 1km (age six-nine), two miles (age 10 and over) and main 5-mile race starting at 10.30am. All proceeds to Kintbury St Mary’s Primary School. VoxFest, Burghclere Sports Club 10am-4pm. Vocal performances from children’s and adults’ choirs, BBQ, bar, miniature railway. Advance tickets adults £7, children £5 at www.ticketsource.co.uk/voxfest £9/£7 at the gate. Fundraiser for VoxThrive.

Newbury Vegan market, Market Place, 10am-3pm. The best of cruelty-free, plant-based and eco-friendly food and other items.

Tea dance, Royal British Legion, Pelican Lane, Newbury, 1.30pm-4pm. Ballroom, sequence and Latin. Entry £3. All welcome. Details (01635) 47415 or 865896.

Wednesday 18

Newbury District Field Club, West Berkshire Museum, The Wharf, Newbury, 2pm. Town Walks: Jane Burrell, David Peacock and Phil Wood take groups around Newbury.
